Key pouch

Hey folks, more questions: do you use the glass key or the plastic key? Also if the glass, where can I find the pouch or a holder key chain like solution?

Thanks!

I ordered this new version today because it has a cut-out for the ECU buttons. Drawback of the original version is that you can't lock/unlock the car unless you take the ECU out of the cover, which risks you dropping it on the concrete (as I have done).

But you can't use the leather cover with a key chain. In fact you can't use any Aston key with a key chain, unless you're 9 years old. Its a style thing. ;)

The leather cover has a key chain ring on it. It folds against the cover when not in use.

I actually push the lock/unlock button through the leather - works fine

Key ring is very different. Maybe its language. Its the big chains that attach keys to trousers that have no place in an Aston.

They work with schoolkids that lose anything unless its firmly attached to them, and for someone that works in a prison for a similar reason, but not for an adult with enough taste to buy an Aston ;)

Not sure what to call it, but it's just a single split ring about one inch in diameter that you can attach keys or another ring to. Regardless, I really like cover b/c it prevents the ECU from being scratched by other things in your pocket or drawer. Also provides protection if you drop it, which isn't that hard to do.

thanks everyone! I really want to use the glass key -- looks so nice in the ignition. So I guess its an international purchase. Thanks for the link! I guess the one with the hole to press buttons is the preferred one?

Wow - $100 eh?!

I'm almost embarrassed to admit this, given all the money I spent on the Virage and my other cars, but I bought this leather key fob holder on eBay for $10.00, rather than spend over $100 for the AM version. It works great. hilarious

But don't you still have to take the crystal key out of the pouch to start the car?
