V12 Vantage Satin Carbon Black

Hi all,

Looking at upgrading to a V12 Vantage; will be considering one in satin carbon black finish. I just spoke with the salesperson and was told that this paint finish requires extra effort to maintain. I probed and he basically said that fingerprints are a pain to keep off of this finish.

I won't have a chance to see the car in-person until later next month. Anyone here have this paint finish? Would be interested in hearing about your experiences in terms of maintenance.

I should add that in the end this may not matter much, as I intend to wrap the entire car with clear protective film as I did on my 09' V8V.

Thanks in advance,

eric

Did you end up getting the Vantage with the satin carbon finish? I see one for sale on ebay out of Miami. Wonder if this is the same car?

ForeignCars in Greensboro has one as well. Wouldn't a clear wrap gloss up the matte finish?

satin finish

I have seen these in person and I'm not a fan. To my eyes the Aston is just too sexy a shape to reward a brutalist aesthetic.

You lose the great light play across the surfaces of the car and worst of all you look like one of those vinyl wrap kids.

I think it looks good on the old Z4M coupes and some Mercs, but not on R8's or Astons.

Not an Aston but good information on care. Also, you must remove insects or sap immediately or it will ruin your paint.
