I spoke with Mike Jr. 2 weeks ago. He said I was the third V8VS owner he spoke with during the past week. He told me that the V8VS pads are the same as the non S pads based on measurements he had from another S owner. Maybe I need to speak with Daniel based on what you and 007 have said. The brake squeal from the original pads is the only blemish I have with the car. The dealer and I have tried everything mentioned in other threads. During the summer it was tolerable, but once the outside temperature dropped below 60 the noise made the car undriveable.

Not true. The front pads on the V8VS (and '13 MY non S on) are larger than the non S but the rears are the same. I just got a set of GiroDisc Magicpads I am about to install because of dusting instead of squealing in my '13.

The fronts are larger, just tell him S rotors are 380mm, and stock rotors are 355 rotors. That should explain it all... If you need and help/support I can talk to him for you. I will be getting 1521pads if I get any brake squeal (and once I upgrade to 2 piece brake rotors

I got carbotech all the way around on my '12 V8V-S, squeal is gone and dusting is significantly reduced. Pad bite is less than the stock set (you can't have it all) but its a sacrifice I'm willing to endure for the quite ride.

Great to hear both noise and dust are gone. Although I felt like mine were biting better than stock after I bedded them in. It did take at least 2-3 weeks of use to really bed them in fully. How did you bed them in exactly? What was your procedure?

Angry Updates on Pads for V8S

Hi Guys,

I'm new to 6speedonline. I have a 2012 Vantage V8S and are pretty pissed of with the constant brake squeal from the factory pads. (yes I drive hard occasionally and it improves for a day or so).

Any feedback on how the Carbotech or other aftermarket pads have been performing noise and performance wise. I'm really keen to replace current pads with anything that doesn't squeal. Have been considering using the anchor of my boat if things don't improve.

Thanks.

I'm on my 2nd V8 and have now done 16k miles in my S
Both squealed like pigs even after the dealers "sorted" the problem
It was recently in at Bamford Rose they did the following and it has sorted the issue!
1) chamfer the edge of the pads
2) install them with some copper slip on the back of the anti squeal shims
3) bed them in properly

I did find when they used to be bad a good pressure wash of the brake would sort it for a few months.
