My DB9's dash/panel lights are always on.. Can't be normal right?
I just noticed that my dash/panel lights turn on as soon as I turn the key. Interior panel lights are now only responding to key on/off and not the light switch. I never paid attention so not sure when this started but I'm assuming it's not normal. "A/C" and "Sport" button back lights are already burnt so I need to find out whether they can be replaced. Anyone had similar problems with dash/panel lights? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance folks.

The buttons don't have bulbs that can be replaced. Is the dimmer switched turned down? It's next to the light switch.

I checked the dimmer switch. All the other lights go dim/bright with dimmer switch but these couple of buttons are just completely dark even at the highest setting. I think they are just burnt since the interior lights are always on whenever I drive the car. I've been driving it a lot on long trips too. Thanks for the pointer.

The LEDs in them maybe burnt out. Does the orange light come on when u press the button? If so then I would say its internal. Oh and there fun to change by the way.

The button is still functioning and just the internal back light is burnt. I still need to figure out why the dash lights come on when I turn the key on. My Aston has little annoying electrical issues all the time.. I thought they would have figured things out by now and have a reliable electrical system...but nooooo... damn it! :) Thanks again AMFixer.

Sounds like you need to replace the A/C and SPORT buttons. The locate lighting of all gauges and buttons illuminate with the key on. The dimmer just does its job with the main light switch on or off.

Thanks a lot for the info J & Irish. You guys are correct, the gauge and center panel/console lights come on when I turn the key (even if the headlight switch is at "Off") and looks like it's normal then. I've been going through lots of DB9 start up videos and also noticed all the interior lights come on as soon as the key is turned. I guess I'll have to replace a couple of buttons. Thanks again folks.
