Well I was unable to reset my SRS code which was CFFF. On the Volvo forums this is a bad module. I finally took it into the dealer and they confirmed the code and they could not reset so the module is bad. The Autel 802 found the issue so pleased with that, just not that I have to pay for the fix.

Thanks for the heads up on the folks that will reset the module. Car is already at the dealer so I'll ask for the old one back and ship it out. Might as well get it done while I can.

Aston Martin DB9 SRS

Hi Irish08. I have the same MD802 but I get nothing from it when selecting Volvo XC90 and I need to turn my SRS warning light off. Have replaced both front airbags, seat belt tensioner and airbag ECU. Could you advise the exact configuration in the MD802 and I'll give it a go. Thanks. Pete

2002 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante SRS Reset

Hello,

2002 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante SRS Reset

I have been reading the prior thread on resetting an Aston Martin SRS light. The car I am working on is getting SRS bulb code flash one pause followed by nine flashes (code 19).

The car has both a drivetrain and a body ODBII port.

Here is what has been done to date.

1. Replace both driver and passenger air bags.

2. Tested continuity of clock spring (good continuity and horn works), assume clock spring is good.

3. Have not inspected the selt belt tensioners/connections (what is the likely hood they need to be replaced?)

4. Tried multiple ODB scanners on the body port including an Autel EU702 (trying to connect with Volvo XC90 settings). None have been able to connect to the body port successfully.

The most success I have had is to connect via a small Bluetooth ELM scanner to the body port and issue the ATMA command to get a HEX response from the BUS.

We don't usually read codes that way being it's a Jag module, some of our codes are different than the blinking light. For example the blinking code 19 is drivers bag, but Aston uses that as an actual DTC code related to blink light code 15 and 34. So diagnosing by the blinking light can lead us in the wrong direction..

Also to throw another wrench into the problem, the diagnostic system was setup on a RHD vehicle, so keep that in mind when diagnosing...in other words, sometimes the RHD drivers air bag fault is actually the passenger bag issue on a LHD car

2002 Aston Martin DB7 Vantage Volante SRS Reset

Sorry in advance for the barrage of questions. Would like to be able to read the codes, resolve the issues and reset the SRS light. Don't have the luxury of dealer tools(AMDS/WDS).

Appreciate the heads up on possible confusion with RHD/LHD (read that in this thread). This is a left hand drive car.

Yes, my first search on the code 19 indicated Driver Air Bag, also found references to RCM (Restraint Control Module) data is full. Would you happen to know what the particular blinking 19 fault code on this car indicates (driver air bag, passenger air bag, RCM data full or other)?

I wasn't sure which module is in the car (Volvo, Jag, Ford...) as others on the thread mentioned their cars have a Volvo module (that's why I tried using the EU701, I have a MD802 on order expecting this weekend). Would you happen know which module (protocol) is in this particular car?

Would imagine the SRS module needs to be reset to clear the light, rather then repair the faults and having it self reset. Any input here?

BTW; I have developed similar systems software. Curious if there are multiple faults in the system will it flash the first fault, pause flash second fault, third and so on... Or does it just show only one fault at a time?

Thanks

Ford system/design. Use 2001-2005 Ford on your Autel. code 19 and or 32 are drivers circuit fault resistance above min.

Dealer cost to replace the SRS module was approx. $1200.

Note that I purchase the Autel 802 through an approved vendor so I could get support if required. The 802 I purchased is for international as well as domestic vehicles. It took a couple of try's but the XC90 type did work.

Either one should work, but you may need the passenger seat calibrated depending on code or codes stored.
