I have a new V8V with 500 mi on it and today the Hood Open message is flashing. I opened and closed it several times to no avail. With the hood open if I manually push the latch into the closed position the warning goes out but when I re open it and then close the hood it comes back on even though the hood is securely latched. Any thoughts? The dealer is 4.5 hrs away...

 

Disconnect the sensor.

 

disconnect or it sounds to me like the switch needs to be adjusted in the up direction......let your dealer mess with it if you have a dealer, under warranty

 

Does anyone know how to disconnect the sensor?
