10W60 Oil's Tested

Hey guys I have been curious about the differences in Castrol 10w60 oils especially since Edge Sport (Sold by Aston Martin dealers) is considerably "less expensive" than Edge Professional (Sold by BMW dealers) so I sent new samples of both to Blackstone for testing. The Professional has slightly higher levels of Moly and Zinc but the main difference is the titanium additive (see attachments). Also to note I had my used Edge Sport oil tested and after 12 months in my Vantage 2500 miles and 4 track days the oil has plenty of "life" left! Blackstone said another 1000 miles would be no problem.. Hope this is helpful!

Awesome! Great info. The Castrol 5w-50 is also a fantastic oil they produce and is also commonly used on the bmws and other high end europeans.

The 5w-50 is going to be better for slightly colder climates and should improve engine response slightly compared to the 10w-60. Either is a great oil.

Great info!
