V12 shifter

Hello guys.
I noticed that on my Thor hammer shifter that thers a fine scratch on the aluminum finish, probably from the previous owners man jewelry. I was wondering if that it could be sanded with say 3000 grit paper to finely remove it. Any suggestions?

It will come out. I had one on mine(Yes, man jewelry. I have stones in my college ring). I had it professionally detailed and i believe that they uses a flannel tipped buffing tool. I wouldn't try it myself. There are detailers are used to resurfacing aluminum.

That happened when I bought my DBS - previous owner scratched it up. I was going to replace with a new one from Astonmartinbits dot com. 817 pounds

Yea saw that on aston bits, that's like 1300 usd, right? The scratches are small and not deep.
Jaymoney, was it a dremel tip? Did he remove the shifter? Just wondering how to explain to Josh at ottomans detailing. He did an amazing job polishing the car before Norm installed the clear bra (Norm also did an awesome job).
Does anyone know if the shifter is clear coated ?

I recently got a Dbs shifter from aston martin bits (used, about $450) and it also had some light scratches. I took it to a local metal polishing shop that said they could easily polish out the damage but their concern was the little recessed glass cover for the shift pattern insert. He wanted to remove that and I had a tough time trying to tackle that without damaging. In the end decided to just live with the scratches.
