Cabin Filter for Aston Martin Vantage

Does anyone want to know alternative cabin filter for Vantage?
The original part is not charcoal filter.

Guess the answer is no then.

But, pleased to hear that the original part is much better than an old charcoal filter like you get for sweaty trainers.

Are you selling a version of the sweaty trainer filter that fits in an Aston Martin? Maybe there are people that don't want to spend more than $2.50 on a filter for their $200k car, but it seems unlikely. How much are your filters?

I'm not selling anything. I have 2013 Vantage S. After spending $120 on my replacement at the dealer I've searched for many days to find charcoal version. Guess what? They are using exactly the same cabin filter as Mazda R8 and MPV. Moreover it comes in Charcoal as well. I can't recall the exact years but the latest R8 fits for sure. I think yr 2006-most recent. I just wanted to share this and I didn't know how. Glad someone is interested. The cost is around $13 and you can find them at most auto part stores. For example, ATP RA-16 Carbon Activated Premium Cabin Air Filter from Amazon was $15.70. http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51tbje0nUfL.jpg

Curious thing? There was a HONEYBEE offering carbon AM filters through EBay a few weeks ago

Yes. That was me few months ago. I wanted to know demend for this filter. Whoever asked about the it, i just let them know this info. I was mad that Aston Martin was selling it at such a high price for something so cheap. Dealer price was $120, not including installation. I was just cruising this cite for speaker replacement and I figured I would just share the info. I hope this fulfills your curiosity.

I don't understand what the big deal is about a carbon filter versus a standard cotton filter? Perhaps you can explain why

Both filters, particulate and activated carbon, filter out particles on the air. It filters outside air coming into the cabin. It also filters air inside the cabin. The particulate filters only the particles, the fumes in the air. The activated carbon ones absorbs fume as well as filter partuculate. If you have asthma or any respiratory problems I would strongly suggest activated carbon filter. I accidently burned the clutch pad and the fume came right into the cabin..not good.

Can anyone confirm if the amazon part referenced is in fact 100% confirmed fit, tested & verified for our cars? Is this the exact part number? Many of the reviews state it does not fit certain year Mazda RX8 leading me to believe here are two types. Just want to make sure this is the right one

"ATP RA-16 Carbon Activated Premium Cabin Air Filter"

I will be replacing the passenger driver side dash trip piece (leather is pulling up), and tog et to it you have tog in access to the cabin filter box. I figure this would be the perfect time to replace them since they have to be done anyways. If carbonrev rally is that much better and it's only $16 for the PAIR... I am more than willing to give them a try since the stock filters are already 7 years old.

Thanks,
007

I'd be interested in hearing if they work as well. Looking at astonbits.com the AM filters are around $60-70 for a set. I wonder how tough it is to change these?

Part costs

Really, $120 for 2 folded paper pieces, weighing ounces, you can hold in the palm of your hand at the dealer? Aston Martin's reputation for overcharging confirmed again. Nice find hooneybee of the paper and charcoal replacement alternatives.

When I went into replace mine on my '07 a couple of years ago they looked new, clean, unsoiled. I vacuumed them in case they were covered with "no-see-ums" and returned them to their original, hard to access home. If I venture in there again I'll look into the charcoal replacements.

I will do a installation writeup for the filters. I am going to go ahead and and order them along with the mild2wild & leather dash puller tools off amazon and do separate writeups for everything.

$16 shipped for the pair of charcoal filters is more than worth it to do something that needs to be done anyways. Will let you know how it turns out.

Thanks,
007

Timely post. We have developed cabin air filters, specifically manufactured for the AM application. Have done the same with OEM replacement air filters. Just have samples right now but stock is probably 6 weeks away. If anyone is up for a group buy let me know and I will organize.

Cabin Air filters $29/pair.

Air Filters $59/pair.
