AM V8 window isssue---- i think

This has been bugging me since I got the car. when I open the door the window drops down 1/4" to not hit the door trim. I get that. BUT shouldn't it do it faster so it doesn't sound like it its hitting before the door gets past the trim? its like its not fast enough, even if I open the door real slow, it will hang on the trim slightly.
is this adjustable in software? something I have to live with?

Doesn't sound normal. Mine always clears the trim just fine. However, when I first got the car the back upper corner of the glass used to hit the rear quarter glass a bit. It was adjusted by my dealer under warranty.

it seems like its not coming down fast enough, and wonder if that is a software adjustment. its almost like the function that its trying to provide isn't cutting it.

There is no software adjustment that can be done to increase the speed. Sometimes a adjust to the window in the regulator can help, or even a adjustment to the door.

Thanks! I wonder if when they replaced the door computers they messed with the window regulators. if so, that would explain the mis adjustment then. does anyone know if replacing the computers, involves touching the regulators ?

No you don't need to touch the regulator to change the door module. Why did they change the door module's?

The doors didn't lock with the remote, only the key. not even the internal electronic lock button. So, they changed one door module, but of course, they have to match, so I needed both sides. great design! anyway, as a plus, with the door computer change, the mirrors close when you lock the car. almost worth the price of admission!

There was a update to the door module's. If you have the older style you need both and a update to the car configuration file to make them work. They should have calibrated them when they installed them. Other than that sounds like a slight window glass adjustment maybe needed.

yeah, it seems like its an issue. you would think that the shop (AM shop) would have done this. I have to open the latch, wait for the window to drop the 1/4" and then open the door otherwise it catches. doesn't seem like this is normal at all. I guess I should go to the shop and have them adjust the window again.
