Can you Aston Martin veterans give me your opinions on this 07' Vantage?
Agreed - In my search, I have found it interesting to see the huge range in the quality of listings. Typically, I try to see how much "real" info the listing has. If it has a lot of fluff in it, that can set off my warning detectors a little.
In this listing, the only "real" info is "This Aston is finished in Lighting Silver with Chancellor Red Interior, Clean Car fax, dealer serviced, 29,100 miles.Asking $59,900.00" but it has a lot of other stuff in it, that seems like a waste.

If your looking and willing to spend a little more, there is a '12 I'm eyeing, but not seriously unless I can make a quick sale of my 09 (Meteorite Silver, all tan interior, red calipers, NAV, 700w stereo, just completed the 40,000 mile service (have 39,000 miles on it) with the 2012 tires and wheels (from the car I'd buy). It's a Sportshift - LakeForest said clutch is good, as well as brakes, no squeeling! I'd need $80K to part with my car - and I have a full Aston Martin Factory Warranty for another year! PM me if interested.

Ha! Thought the same thing, I was thinking is he telling midwest about the 12 he's not seriously looking at or perhaps the 09 he's got to sell
A for effort!

Now don't really need to sell my 09 and I'm very happy with it, and the 12 I'm looking at colors and that something that are good at least to me and them that they find of a white exterior, but it only has 1600 miles on it so it's the back of my mind as a possible trade up. It's at Porsche of Maplewood and the letting it go for 92,000!

I really love my 09 but the miles, condition, service record and price of the 12 is enticing ... I think id consider the next Vantage model if they don't screw it up and keep mine till then.
I drove the 12, and thought it felt a wee bit slower than my non'S ' 09 which was a surprise. The seats felt a little more comfortable, otherwise its almost like my 09, not much changed.

That is interesting and good to know since I am also currently deciding on a V8V in the 09-12 range.
Any difference in your opinion in how the transmissions felt between the 09 and the 12?
P.S. Sorry to hijack the thread. Feel free to kick us out to our own!

I kinda like my 09 Sportshift which keeps me involved (I let it downshift on it's own), and 'raw' enough to make me feel what the car is doing and not isolated like an automatic. That said, the 12 just did not feel quicker. I'm not sure if it was because the transmission was perhaps a wee bit smoother or the gearing is different, but it was kinda odd and not expected. It could also be that I'm used to the sportshift I have and it's just different feeling and I was imagining it being less responsive. The car felt also just a tiny bit tighter, not sure if it's because I have 37,000 more miles or the newer Vantages are more tweaked, but my 09 felt more nimble. Both were very close, but not so much that I need to get a newer car and willing to pay the difference. Another odd thing that I thought I'd never ever say, is that I think I like the old NAV better! Just figuring out how to get the display to lower was a pain.
Update on my hunt:
I have been talking with Ray from San Diego ECARS since Friday about this 07' Meteorite Silver Vantage and we came to an agreement on price today pending a PPI at AM San Diego. The price is $61k and he's going to put four new Michelin Pilot Super Sport's on the car and add tint.

So long as the PPI comes back strong I think it's a solid deal! Fingers crossed...

Just curious but what failed on the one in Chicago? I never saw anything mentioned...
I did get a laugh about you using a different car (valve cover leak?) that was 8 vins away on the one you were interested in as a bargaining chip. Seems like a lot of speculation and my sisters brothers cousin said...
The best advise I can give is, these are all used cars and will probably require some level of reconditioning to make "perfect" so buy the lowest mileage and one with the most complete service history you can. Owners who take the time to save service records and catalog them for the next owner means its probably a pretty safe bet the car was cared for. Happy Hunting!
