Autocar Review of Aston N430

Just came out today... I share it's sentiments exactly. Truly the last of the great old school cars left for sale today.

Great vid, thanks for posting!

I have to agree as well. We're all well aware that there are plenty of cars that can cook an Aston in a race. But I think the V8V is going to be an instant classic as a driver's car. It's beautifully mechanical in its feel and great to look at and listen to as well.

And in case anyone missed it - the N430 and GT are pretty much the same car but different markets.

Thanks for sharing, great video and the N430/GT really looks gorgeous!

I throughly enjoyed it... Preaching to the choir though here at this forum. I too echo his feelings towards my Vantage S... It's wonderful, wonderful wonderful.

Yeah, saw that video a few days ago. Pretty good. Here's another one you might enjoy:

If only...

Here's the companion video on the autobahn...

My thought when I first saw that video the other day was that he wasn't really going flat out which would have been 190mph.

Edited to add: if only all the left lane riders in Florida would get out of the way as they do in the video. We even have a new law that came into effect on July 1st that gives cops the right to ticket slow pokes who insist on driving in the passing lane on restricted access highways. But, so far, I haven't seen any improvements.

I still think the 4.3L w/ cats & tune at 7800rpm sounds the best out of all the V8s ... Although I am a bit biased :)

^^^^ Unlike many people on these forums, I don't like the snap, crackle and pop exhaust sound of cars with high-flow exhausts at all. The same goes for the F-type which, to me, sounds almost artificial and manufactured. I feel it gives the impression that the car is not properly tuned and engineered since some of the fuel that could be used for propulsion is being wasted as it burns away in backfires in the exhaust. It's a purely psychological thing but I would prefer every single ounce of fuel to go toward the controlled explosions within the cylinder walls.

So, I must be biased too because I much prefer the clean, muscular but refined sound of the GT like in the Makse video. I can't argue that moving the redline to 7800 would make it sound even more incredible though. :)

I agree, I do not like the aftermarket exhaust sounds which is why I kept the stock exhaust and just did high flow cats this time around, I am very glad I did. It retained the amazing OEM sound I like so much, but just turned it up to 11.

Same here. Not a fan of the crack and pop sound like the f-type. Sounds like something is broken.

The sound of an Aston Martin is something that stays with you forever.
My number one reason for buying one.

007 Vantage 08-03-2014 05:07 PM

The Ftype snap crackle and pop is artificially produced. You can totally tell the engineers preprogrammed the fuel mapping to dump fuel on lift off to give it that artificial sound. It just comes off as very synthetic sounding (albeit not as bad as BMW lip singing its engines via the stereo speakers).
