Only getting ~4K miles on rear PSS tires...

So I put Pilot Super Sports on my DBS when the Pirelli's that were on it wore out.

The first set I put on was late June 2014...the rears went completely bald in 4200 miles. I don't track the car, but it is my daily driver.

I replaced the rear tires about 7 weeks ago, have put about 2200 miles on the car, and the rears are already at 5/32 inch of tread left. At this rate I will need new rears in about another 4 to 6 weeks. Tires are wearing evenly...I don't think I have an alignment problem, but am gonna get that checked in the next couple of days.

Can't figure this out. I know the PSS tires are soft, but I should be getting at least 8K miles out of the rears.

Anybody have any ideas? I may have to move to a longer wearing tire...

Mine have about 5K on them, and I they look like they'll go at least 8-10K. Unfortunately just dropped the car yesterday for annual service, or I'd measure for you. I realize my V8V is a little lighter than yours, but can't believe it would make that much of a difference. I don't daily my car, but I certainly don't baby it when it's driven.

Grasping at straws, what kind of pressures are you running, and what's the wear like on the front?

Strange
My PSS's are doing really well!
I've done 4k miles in my highly modified V8 (550 BHP) and the rears are still only half used!
I've also got them on my daily drive (320 BHP M135i) the rears are getting close to needing a change at 23k miles!
That said I run them a couple of psi higher on the Aston as they have a very soft side wall.

It sounds like you are doing something very right!

Bridgestone RE11 is a longer lasting higher grip tire, but it's also heavier firmer and more extreme

I've been running RE-11 on my V8V and love them. Unfortunately, they do not come in 20s for rscultho's DBS

The fronts are hardly wearing at all...

I am running 36PSI in front, and 38PSI in the rear, which is what the recommended pressures are listed on the driver door. I don't think the weight of my car is affecting/making much difference with the tires.

Well, the first time they went out at 4200 miles I thought I had just got a bad batch. Now that these are wearing as quickly as those, it obviously has something to do with the torque/power coming through the rear wheels.

I wonder if having a manual tranny makes any difference over an automatic/touchtronic tranny in how the power is applied to the wheels?

You should be getting a lot more life out of those things! Not sure if the transmission is going to make any difference, I think it comes down mostly to driving style.

Just went out and measured the P-Zeros on my DBS. Still have 6/32 after 9,000 miles. I bet your rear toe is off.
