LOUD noise from front suspension when turning wheels...

Hi Everybody.

I always driven Ferraris- but decided to buy an 2005 AM DB9 volante. It is a great car. a real GT.

however, the car have serious squeek-noises from suspension whenever the wheel is being turned. Its drives you crazy. Car has 24000 miles.

I wonder if any of you had experience on this matter? bushings? bearing a top of the shock absorber?

.. it is only when the car is hot.,, the first 15 mintes of driving there is nothing at all.

after that, whenever I stop at red-light... within 10 -180 seconds.. it sounds like someone is tapping the bottom of the car with hammer... Just one tap.. CLICK..

.. its like metal expanding because of heat,, it is er annoying as it is loud and clear. even though it is random, it never fails.

Just sitting at a light while engine is hot, is when you get the noise, it's not a noise over bumps or turning?

.. Just sitting, will provoke it... However it usually comes 1-2 sec after start driving when light turns green..

Any recent service performed? First you need to check the under tray panels for security. Second thing I would check, even if it sounds strange is seat mounting bolts.

Sounds like either the heat shielding is touching the tunnel above the secondary catalysts, this would cause a tapping/knocking to center console area while torquing the engine and over some bumps..

Or if it's more of a metallic rattle when putting loud on the engine(sounds like a spring being shook in a jam, this would be a misfire and the misfire factors not being stored(simple low battery will clear them).. Which will not allow a check engine light indicating a misfire is present. With a misfire you might not even feel it with 11 other cyls working, but the misfire will cause the spring plate to rattle which is bolted to the back of the crankshaft... Be surprised how many of these I get!
