DB9 woodpecker fuel purge valve rattle

Sorry to start a new thread guys, but somehow I cannot find any info on the infamous 'woodpecker' purge valve/mount (?) problem that occasionally plagues my 2005 DB9 coupe. The symptom is familiar enough to early DB9 owners I am sure: a short very loud clacking rat-tat-tat at random intervals, seemingly coming from behind the drivers shoulder.

I have seen passing reference to this and to having had it fixed, but cannot find any substantive details of the correct symptom name/ solution/ cause/ cost/ anything... though that could be testament to my poor search skills.

Other than understanding it, would like to know if it is an annoyance or a serious issue (I assume the former.)

Any help or pointers much appreciated.

DMTL valve located at the inner LH wheel area. Updated unit is rubber mounted on a bracket. The purge valve is not the same thing for your reference of the noise. Remove the LH wheel and liner and you maybe able to fabricate bushings on the metal bracket to remedy that woody noise.

the vapor management valve cycles I believe at 10 Hz and you can certainly hear it when it is active, purging fuel vapor from the carbon canister into the intake manifold.
