2007 Vantage V8 Manual transmission not engagin
Hello Guys and gals ,
I am new to this forum and i just got 2007 aston martin vantage v8 manual transmission ,
has only 26 miles on it
Car has problem with engaging 2,4 and 6 th gear
i can drive in 1,3 and 5
I can not put car in 2,4,6 gear , I don't know what happen to the stick its just kinda loose when is pull it downwards to put it into 2nd gear from first
I am only driving in 1,3and 5th gear
Car is driving normally , There shouldn't be a major problem ,I guess there would be a problem in Stick(manualShifter)
Please help me

Sorry to hear you're having issues! But wow, a 2007 with 26 miles on it? That's insane.
Did you have any type of pre-purchase inspection done on the car? It could be anything from as simple as adjusting the shifter linkages or changing the fluid. I can't imagine it's a clutch issue at 26 miles. Truth be told, I would guess it's a 'non issue' once it's fixed. Really sounds like a linkage issue. I know my V8V is hard to shift when the transmission fluid is cold, so if it's "old" there may be the same issue. I'd start with the transmission fluid and the shift linkages.

I agreed with Captain Greg
I guess it's the cables they need to adjusted or replaced , just makes sense to me
One of my buddy played with the shifter ****
While car was off and parked
It was fine before
I don't think it world be a fluid issue or tranny issue
Car drives completely normal in 1,3,5 Gears
It just not engaging into 2,4,6 gears
Because these gets are on the downward of ****
I will check it in the evening
But I don't know how to open the cover
May be you guys can help me
Thank you guys I find this forum helpful

Here are the pics
The rod on left side is in both positions
Pushed forward to engage gears 1,3,5 and
Pulled backward to engage gears 2,4,6
Does not engage to gears 2,4,6
Do you guys have any idea
Is it could be a cable problem ??
Or what

It is common problem you can get in Aston Martin
They wear out fast
Also depends on your shifting style , they wear out fast if you use too much force on shifter lever
