Early DB9 Linn 950 Subwoofer not working

I have a 2005 DB9 with a 950W Linn System. The subwoofer is not working and I was curious if anyone else had this issue or if anyone knew if this was a speaker problem or an amp problem. Any help is appreciated.

Oh where to begin with this system. One of Aston's biggest mistakes.

Since day one we had issues with amps, speakers and subs. The sub would over work the amp causing it to overheat and shut off. The amp would just cut out. Reflashing the amp was a crap shoot. If it worked great, if not it need a new amp. But the cost of that was crazy. Best bet here go after market. If you want to go factory good luck. Its gonna be costly.

I am assuming by going aftermarket on the amp, I will have issues with everything else. Do you have any thoughts on what aftermarket system will work?

Oh go aftermarket on everything. That would be your best bet. As far as which one. I have seen many different ones. The amp list is $5000, who knows with mark up.

Ditch the entire stock system......it is the worst sound system on any Aston......cost me 7k to duplicate the capability of the Bose system

Don't you need the linn amp for other components?

I think the stock amp was retained to power the new sub exclusively. Two new amps were added to power the new front and rear speakers. A mixing box of sorts was added to be able to adjust gains at all the different stations. Stock head unit was retained to maintain stock appearance however I wish I would have changed that as well because of terrible FM reception. Sounds great though when you are parked in the lot of the radio station! I compared mint to the Bose system at the dealer and they are very similar in sound and performance although I am sure the Bose system would have better reception.
