Problem Accessing my DB9's Quarter Window Actuator / Regulator
 

I was wondering whether anyone might have advice or tips on tackling a problem with my '07 DB9 Volante:

Apparently, the pin on the passenger side (under the tonneau cover) that slides in and out (locking the tonneau in place) isn't moving so the convertible top won't raise/lower. However, my mechanic is having a hard time accessing the top mechanism because the little passenger-side quarter-window is in the down position (and in the way). The rear-quarter glass needs to be raised up, independently of the top mechanism, to work on the car.

Is this something anyone's ever come across and/or does anyone know the easiest way to access the window motor and operate that small window? It's hard to reach because of how its positioned and the amount of space in there.

I'd appreciate any suggestion(s) anyone might have.

I have the same issue, from the service manual it looks like you gain access the the locking mechanism through the trunk with the roof raised.

But that is my guess, it does not actually say clearly how to get access.

I was able to obtain a copy of an official Aston Martin technical bulletin that provides step-by-step instructions for removing the quarter-window glass and repairing/replacing the convertible roof actuator. The bulletin suggests that water seepage may be the culprit.

there are steps missing, just so you know.

The missing steps are obvious, one is removing the screws holding the convertible trim pieces to the panel and I forget the other. But it was obvious too.
