Who makes this splitter and any idea of what material it's made of?

Regards

I remember a company selling a bumper " Curb protecter? " it was described as an aluminum piece that was bolted just below the front number to protect it from curbs.

Yep, should have called it a skid plate. I've seen a few on cars I'm checking out. Just curious if they really provide protection?

Yes, it should add protection, but I would imagine it'd be more susceptible to damage. The extra thickness makes it closer to the ground, increasing the likelihood of a scrape. I'd also assume the fasteners stick out even further, also increasing the chance of scraping. If the fasteners are damaged, they may be very difficult to remove/replace. Just my own assumptions as I haven't seen the product in person.

The following pic appears to be the product. Somewhat confusing as it says it protects the front of the car and also the Carbon Fiber splitter
