Does iPhone charge when plugged in or just play music?

Don't want to update plug if not able to charge

It charges in my Vantage.

Somehow the adapter to lightning wont work in my Vantage.

A regular Ipod charges.
What cable are you guy using?

I never recommend using an adapter to convert the charger to the lightening plug. Buy a new lightening charger for the car, make sure you get at a reputable store. The iPhone will not recognize adapters not built to Apple's standards.

I'm glad I asked before spending 30 or 40 bux for a convert to lightning. I'll just use my ol' plug in charger.

I've used Apple's 30 pin to lightning adapter and it worked just fine and charged the phone. Most of the time I leave the tune2air bluetooth adapter connected for music streaming.

Thanks. I guess I can spring for $40

I use the Tune2Air for streaming, and plug into the USB port when I need to charge.

Best of both worlds.

Great idea. I forgot I can charge it with a USB plug. Thanks
(Glad to see you are using your crystal key too)

Could you share the working adapter link please.

There are several out. I tried two different types but none was working.

Here is my setup.

Since I use Google Map quite often and I need to have my phone charged so I went with a direct connection via lightning to 30pin to car's iPhone connector route.

Sorry about the fuzzy photos...

I sounds like most people are able to charge with an adapter to lightning. PK, does the vent mount holder stay still and not vibrate?
Love your Aston Martin Nazi.

I can charge mine with the adapter ... but it is a very slow charge.

I purchased it from the At&t store but it's the Apple brand adapter.
