My V8V chasis (tubs) were damaged at Firestone

I think Rich probably knows more about them than most of us and wouldn't be hurting his car. The rail runs down the whole side. He's putting a protection pad on the jack so it's not metal against the composite sills to keep from damaging them, the 4 corner jack point are cutouts in the sills you can jack directly against and we all have hockey pucks [or specific jack pads] to jack those areas with no metal to sill contact as the areas aren't huge. Dealers don't care and will lift in those spots [and several others] but usually have rubber pad topped lift pads.
There are several places you can use, in an emergency with a dead flat tire you can't think about getting a jack under the car I've used the lower wishbone with a puck to make sure it doesn't slip. It's supporting the weight of the car anyway.

My car has a "scar" that I think was from when I first purchased it and had the initial safety inspection done. It was at a place that specialized in BMW's. I didn't know about needing to be careful with jack points at that time. I haven't worried about it in the 5 years I've owned it though. It drives perfectly straight and true. I still love it and never plan to sell (never say never?). Maybe it will be a concern for one of my kids someday.
