Pricing advice for used V8 Vantage S
 

Hey all,

I am seriously considering to take the plunge and go for a 2011 V8Vs roadster. Couple of questions:

- Is it common for AM dealers to be fixed on the price for their used car? I think the car has been on the market for >100 days and he say that he has no flexibility in the price.

- How much would be reasonable for 2011 V8Vs roadster at 10k/20k/30k miles?

Thanks all! A lot of emotion at play here, so really hoping that I could join the AM family at a reasonable deal.

Aston Martin sell so few cars that truly reliable sales statistics are very foggy. The V8VS is particularly rare, so no reliable stats exist at all. FWIW, I recently bought an '11 V8VS with 16k miles for $68k, and I think I stole it. Sticker was $156k. Eyes wide open, that's serious depreciation in that the first buyer paid $5.5 per mile, not counting gas or insurance! Ouch! Glad to get mine 2nd hand.

My local dealer had an '12 base (non-s) with 4k miles and were asking $80k. While, as with all other marques, a lot depends upon options/ condition/ mileage, if you can get an '11 V8VS for under $70k you've got a fair deal, and something you can certainly enjoy. I'd love to see production and sales #'s for the S, as I think it's going to prove a rare one.

I assume the price is for a coupe? That's seems like a good reasonable deal. This dealer is not being flexible on its $77k for 30k miles 11' V8VS roadster. I do really like the color combo thou.

I have a '11 V8VS roadster and $77 is a fairly reasonable price. That car would have been priced 20k more a year ago.

I purchased a 2011 V8VS coupe in February for $76k.
I think is a great value consider it has only 5400 miles and my favorite Meteorite silver exterior. It is loaded with most options including B&O sound.

This is sounding really good. There is a 2012 meteorite silver v8vs with B&W on autotrader for $87k ask with 4500 miles. I really don't have space for another car unless I sell one but I'd be very interested in this car for about $10k less. Have not contact the seller...must stop looking at car ads...

I doubt a seller would drop $10k from his asking price. Most people expect maybe $2-3k, but 10?

$10k is a relative amount. On an $87k ask that's about 11.5%. I negotiated my Ferrari down about $10k from an initial similar ask. A seller needing to sell would consider that reasonable enough if there are no other offers. Otherwise they'd just keep it if that was an option. Also, if something like a new clutch is needed, then its' more than reasonable.

Regardless, I very much have no pressure as a buyer (other than I've wanted an Aston my entire life ;) ) and with a 1 year old and another child soon enough, I'm thinking my car play this year will be trading our Jeep for the new Ford Raptor to tow jetskis and boats and snowmobiles and children, otherwise another coupe will get 2-3k miles a year max :(.

The dealer is delusional. The 30k miles are a much bigger hit they they are willing to price for.
I bought my '12 V8VS little more than one year ago for just over $80k and it had 17k on the odometer. A roadster at the time with the same miles would command $2k-$3k more. Now adjust for the car in question being an '11 and 30k miles. Assuming it has a solid inspection and some life on the tires, I'd offer $72k and walk away.

I know it's not a newer one but I just bought a 09 base with Porsche pearl white paint and sandstorm and white interior with 15k miles for $59k USD. Thought that was a pretty good deal for such a raid pricey paint option and interior option.
