Hi! Looking to purchase my first AM V8V

Hello everyone. I am new to the forum, but not new to cars. I currently have a 1981 Delorean that I restored, but I am getting the itch for a convertible. Texas has almost year round weather to enjoy it, so why not?

I fell in love with a 2001 Ferrari 360, but we couldnt make the numbers work. My wife has always wanted an AM, and after some research I found that the 2009 fits right in line with what I want to spend. I am looking for and automatic, convertible, pretty fully loaded. Im not terribly concerned about mileage, but I want to make sure that if I get bored I am able to sell it. My favorite color is blue, and I love the saddle interior, and just happened to stumble across this one:

http://www.autobahngallery.com/vehicle-details/2009-aston-martin-vantage-roadster-72dd6a6d8803408da26b904f44d5c4ae/#Features

Curious if anyone has checked it out, or if anyone can recommend a good place to get a PPI done. I will be in the San Diego area but not until July, so checking it out is going to be difficult. There are a couple closer, but the majority are a little bland for my taste, I like something a little flashier, and I really dont want to deal with a black interior in Texas.

There isn't an automatic V8 Vantage. There's an automated manual, but it's a robotized manual transmission with a clutch, controlled either by the driver or automatically by the transmission control unit. It doesn't have a torque converter, and is very different than an automatic transmission. Just food for thought because if you're expecting a smooth auto tranny, you're going to be seriously disappointed.

There's a dealership around there somewhere that should be able to do the PPI.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry for the lack of terminology, we were comparing against the F1 in the 360. What I should have said was no three pedal configuration for her.

The nearest dealer is an hour away, but that looks like it might be the best bet.

I had a sportshift 09 and if you drive it as prescribed, in manual shift mode manipulating the gas pedal as if a straight stick shift its very enjoyable to use. So much so, I mandated a sportshift when I searched for my 2015 GT

The 09 was a great car... Had 30000 miles when I got it, 42000 miles when I traded it in... Other than the drivers mirror motor being a little slow (covered under my extended warranty) zero issues or surprises! I was the 4th owner.

Argus will become famous soon enough
Before you buy get the newest Definitive Guide to Aston Martin. It will answer just about every question may have. Save time money and heart ache.

Completely agree with Argus's comment. I spent a great deal of time reviewing the information while conducting several searches.

I use to live in SA a while back. I don't think that SA has enough class for you to drive an Aston Martin there. You may want to move to Dallas or Houston!!!

SA is a great Aston town b/c our roads actually allow for spirited driving and we are close to the hill country.

You should buy the British Racing Green one listed this week. It’s beautiful.
