This will be well-received...............

Alrighty then.

Can't see why you'd be nervous

Just did 1700km in 2 days in mine, not a hitch

Ran beautifully, comfortable, got some positive comments, average 11L/100km (about 27mpg) and just brilliant when passing cars and managing anything winding

Enjoy

Doug Demuro gets paid to exaggerate things and make everything seem like a big deal. The stuff he's written about Astons is often laughable at best.

8,000km (5,000miles) so far this summer and no problem either and like you Graze about 10.5-11L/100km on highway.... A lot less in town :-)

I have read some of his articles, and Doug is a total jack wagon and knows nothing about cars.

Riich

i have seen some of his videos

I agree & just thought I'd put the alternative case

Exactly. When people are 'amazed' that their car didn't break down or 'made it all the way' ......
Sell the damn thing and buy a Honda.
Never hesitate to hit the road in mine. In fact always looking for reasons to take it out.

The thing that really bugs me about it is that he's got a lot of people that follow him and by making it seem like the cars are inherently unreliable, it diminishes the value of the brand and with it, the value of our cars. People that don't have any experience with the cars are apt to believe him. His clickbait commentary is bringing down the value of assets we own. It'd be bad enough if it was just ignorance, but he's knowingly misleading people and slandering the cars. He really needs to move on and stop posting about Astons.

Yeah I agree, he has gone a long way down hill since the day when he owned a lotus

I didn't own my Aston but I felt so sorry for the owners/ brand and how he talks the value down on my dream car.

Mathman85 09-13-2016 11:57 AM

Yes, he makes his money by sensationalizing things (clickbait), but he has said, repeatedly actually, that the car has been reliable.

http://jalopnik.com/here-s-what-it-r...ton-1781264600

"In fact, everything has worked flawlessly for quite a while now, which brings me to my first point about the Aston’s ownership costs: it has been fairly reliable. I mean, yeah, sure, my Aston Martin CPO warranty—which cost about $3,800 extra when I bought the car five months ago—has now shelled out $5,498 in claims, after a failed thermostat ($738), a timing problem ($4,409), and a door strut replacement ($351).

But here’s the thing: every single issue this car had came in the first month of ownership, after it had spent the last seven months sitting for sale—and totally un-driven—on a dealership lot.

Since I started driving it every day and treating it like a normal car—not an objet d’art to be wiped down twice daily with a microfiber diaper—it has rewarded me with rock-solid reliability in the last five months and 5,000 miles of driving. I’m starting to think the early hiccups were a fluke, rather than the norm."

I'm on the fence with his commentary as I have seen a few of his videos in the past in relation to land rovers and the aston. One side of me thinks he is crazy and is slandering the vehicles we hold dear to our hearts. But the other side laughs at his wit and hopefully turns away other yahoos who might try to own a vehicle that is beyond their means and can cost an absurd amount of money to repair. I hate to hear anything negative about the brand, but also don't want people running Astons into the ground and dumping them which drags down the value of the marque.

One of his first 'incidents' in the Aston was a rock stuck between the rotor and caliper making a horrendous noise. No damage to the vehicle and could have happened to any car at any time but of course he turns it into a spectacle.

Not sure if I want him to break down or make the whole trip without incident. Either way, it won't affect my opinion of my Aston!

Yea. He really annoyed the Ferrari guy's with his antics. This guy is click bait for teenagers. Nothing more.
