Post Emissions Test

Went for the test after driving for a couple days with no warnings or trouble codes.
Good news is the test passed once I coached the tech on plugging into the correct port under the dash (the left one).

I also took a video to see the steps their test goes through for Ontario's Drive Clean test.

Got my new plate sticker and went from the the best colour combo to one of the worst - at least we don't have to put stickers on the windshield here...

Rich what do you think the factor is...age or mileage? My factory AM t-stat failed (rubber seal disintegrated) after 7k. So far the Ford one is good with another almost 7k on it.

Post Washer tank leaking fix

So the fluid only lasts a day or two before the low washer fluid displays upon startup.

I decided to remove it from the car so out comes the wheel well liner yet again. Just a couple Torx bolts, 3 plugs, and 3 hoses to disconnect.
To my surprise the tank was not cracked or leaking so it is likely one of the seals.
I put vacuum caps on the pumps (one for windshield and other for headlights) and neither of them leaked a drop over 2 days.
The leak came from the back where the sensor is.
The seal has a flat side on it to clear the shape of the bottle - it was off by 90 degrees causing the leak. A lucky easy fix with no parts needed. I trimmed the hoses back a 1/2" for a new seal on the pumps as preventative maintenance.

Cleaned tank, reassembled, installed, primed and tested.
All good now as level hasn't dropped = success

I suggest connecting the fill hose first:

Lot of pics in sequential order may help someone out in the future

Thumbs up AMOC Canada East Spring Drive

Hi Guys, wanted to share some pics from the day.
A record 22 Aston's participated in the spirited drive from Toronto to Kleinburg, Ontario for lunch at XXI Chophouse in the "Doctor's House".

An expert from B&O was on hand to educate on the sound system for the Aston Martin and a local tailor specializing in bespoke suits.
The unveiling was a Q 1of1 Silver Birch DB11 V8 (the DB5 Goldfinger colour) reported to have a 300 man hour paint job.

Happily, the speed limit appeared to be only a suggestion on the drive through rural winding country roads. What looked like rain in the early morning turned into a great weather day for a cruise. My black Vantage was easy to spot as the first with smoked marker lights

Header starter and cats installed

Took 4 hours a side over two days.
Most stud nuts accessed from side with liners removed.
Rest from underneath, top wasn't necessary.
Cats are easy except tightening top bolts are a little tight.
EGR plug added with tube removed.
New starter works great and no leaks from new gaskets.
I'll post some videos soon of the new sound.
Cost me $670 CDN.
Check out the pics and let me know if you have any questions.

Thumbs up Fixing the active exhaust on my Vantage

First I checked and lubricated the valves:

With the fuse in the pump was running repeatedly telling me there is a leak in the vacuum system:

The culprit was a split vacuum line that connects the valve to a tee fitting. It was only 1-1/2" long so I grabbed some spare hose I had and another free fix for me:

To test my repair I use a piece of 2x4 and the power seat button to set rpm to just below and just over 1500 rpm. Now it's working like a charm

Video Videos of startup and acceleration after headers and cats installed

First thing I did was re-install the security package tray in the trunk

Driving around with the windows down is intoxicating and my average fuel consumption has increase the past week due to a more aggresive driving style

Initial startup to check new starter:

Driving with smartphone on the passenger seat and windows down:

Driving with Fuse 22 out:

Enjoy!

Sounds very familiar except I don't hear near as many pops and crackles on overrun or throttle lift. What exhaust do you have?

Everything downstream of the 200 cell cats are OEM stock exhaust and muffler.
