I cut out a hole in a sheet of absorbent mat and lay it down on every fill. I live in PA but buy in NJ because the prices are more reasonable by far. I insist on pumping the fuel myself and so far there has been no objection, If they do I just leave...

 

I filled it myself a couple days ago [different station]. No objections, but, honestly I'd rather not have to stand there and answer all the questions from a bored attendant. It always starts out the same "you a rock star?" [in my mind, sure!]. Sitting in the car it was never a problem, just having fumblefingered attendants!
