NEW Vantage Unveiled
#302
Somebody finally weighed one. 1726kg/3800 lbs with full fuel tank. I sure hope that is with driver, but may not be. Regardless, that number puts it around 90kg/200lbs heavier than the current gen according to the listed numbers.

Well... in fairness... with turbos, you could easily modify and tune a LOT more horsepower into the car.
But with that said, I was lightly kicking around the idea of getting one for use as a track toy--but if it's really heavier than my Vantage, I'm not interested.

The *** of this new Vantage is just to die for..... I have always been a *** man !
as far as performance I really don't care ...for those of you unfortunate souls who don't fly for a living I can understand your gripe with manual turbo and duel clutch issues.
for me it's irrelevant cos I go over 300 every day on approach to a clients spot or leaving a clients spot normally 10 ft or lower depending on how I feel, so doing 200 or 250 is just naff!
the car is pretty, the *** is bad *** and for that reason alone I will simply have one when they are available. Wish it came with a cayotte Ford V8 and auto box cos then it would be a perfect combination of beauty and drivable reliability

As the owner of a 2009 Vantage V8, I have always appreciated the understated elegance of the Aston Martin brand. Just one look tells you the car is beautiful. Not so with the new Vantage. It is, at best, an acquired taste.
I wonder if the radical styling change will make old school Astons more sought after.

Just stopped to get BBQ and the girl at the register asked "Is that your car?" - "God that's beautiful"
Then in the pickup line - "Is that your aston?" yes. "is that a v12?!" [frown] no. "Don't you dare put it down, that's a V8 Vantage!" Damn, he knew what it was, couldn't be 20 years old, I was impressed!

I know what you mean as I was at a Car & Coffee last night and similar thing happen, I noticed that the young kids know these cars more than the older crowd for some reason... Same with me "is that a V12" no a V8 but Manual 6sp and still very powerful I said, my dream car...

I was really surprised somebody that young knew what it was. He was definitely a car guy though, said his dream car was a Supra, and I said you know there's a new one coming next year? and he said, yea, but I like the old ones LOL
