Car sold w/o crystal ecu?

I just picked up my first AM yesterday. A 2014 vanquish. After searching nationwide I found it out of state and had it inspected, serviced and delivered.
I was surprised to find that while there were two plastic key fobs, the beautiful crystal key was not included.
Is this common? I try not to make any assumptions when buying used cars. Especially without putting my own hands on them first but this time I assumed that the fancy key would be included.
I have a call in to the dealer. They are an AM dealer so they might take care of me.
Car is awesome! Sounds amazing, plenty fast enough and looks killer.

It should come with the car. I would insist that they order you one. It will still need the be programmed.

This happened to me when I purchased mine. The seller came through with buying me a new one then later they found the lost one. Now I have two!

Used Aston Martin often are missing them as people keep them for souvenir or try to resell them on ebay to make some money. I am also missing my Crystal key and looking for a good used one at a reasonable price as I heard that you can transfer the guts of a plastic key into a Crystal key

I found this in the search

BUT If you only have 1 key programmed to the vehicle, dealer is the only place that can get you a second new key programmed to start the car.

Can I program the new key myself to operate the locks: NO, there is nothing you can to program the key to unlock/lock/open trunk, this is only done by the dealer

Can I swap the internals of my plastic key to the new glass key I bought: Yes, you can swap the circuit board and chip to the glass key and thus the glass key will operate(vehicle will think it's the plastic key that is already programmed), but you will now have a inop plastic key.
I believe that some people here have done it successfully... I would also be interested in buying a key with broken crystal is someone here as one and they got it replaced...

Keys on the way

The dealer came through and new keys are on the way. I am holding off celebrating till I start the car with them. But it looks promising.

rohnin is on a distinguished road
I’m thinking of replacing my crystal key because there are some minor scratches on it how much could I get for it? Then I can order a new one!

I would like to say $200 but they do sell for more on ebay even if they can not be reprogrammed to any other car... I would be more looking for one that has a broken crystal so I can try to make something out of it.
