Chinese Carbon review
Chinese Carbon review
All
I know we have plenty of review threads, but a ton of them are from prior 2014 - a lot of these companies have disappeared since. So why not post a review from 2018? Just an FYI, a lot of pictures
In February I tried to contact Oya-Carbon after seeing so many threads mostly on Pistonheads and some here. I immediately got a response the next night from "Tina," but noticed the name was not Oya but rather Shenzhen Kuang-chi Advanced Structure Technologies Company Limited. Either this company bought up the old Oya stock and everything they had or this is the operating legal name for Oya. They sent me a copy of their Aston Martin Catalog, which is the exact same thing Oya had, but with some pieces missing. Chinese New Year just dawned so she informed me there would be 2 weeks of no contact, I had no issues with this. When she returned, she immediately emailed me to resume the order process (was not expecting that).
Prior complaints with Oya were mainly fitment issues with the extended Kamm Tail. I took the risk in purchasing one knowing I would full well return it if the fitment wasn't proper. Tina's customer service is simply some of the best I've ever received when dealing with an Asia-Pac company (I deal with clients/businesses there all the time for work). From the time we resumed, it took 3 days to get the order in and payed for. They do not have these pre-made, each piece will have to be made-to-order since they do not hold stock. Because of this, I had the option to choose if the weave of the Carbon Fiber would be twill or plain - I chose plain
Here is a copy of line items on the order list

After the order was placed, it took them exactly 1 month to have the 2 pieces made. When it was complete, Tina informed me of the DHL delivery, it took them 12 days to deliver to my doorstep here in St. Louis
The box did not seem damaged at all

Very happy with how everything was wrapped

Unpacking

Closeups of the weave

My car is ceramic coated with an application of cquartz I did myself. I figured the easiest time to ceramic coat these would be when they were off. Once applied, the depth of gloss on the clearcoat of the pieces really stood out!

Kamm Tail
I used 91% alcohol to prep the trunk and 3M Auto Adhesive to bond the tail to the trunk
Overall, the fitment is a 8/10. The problem is since the ends are curved to match the line of the trunk, you need a very strong adhesive to make sure the ends stay done. It will not move for now, but I know over time the 3M might play a little problem. There is absolutely no give, but I can imagine the adhesive is at it's max capacity in terms of holding strength on the ends. Also with the thickness of the tape, there is a raised look on the sides of the tail. Not exactly flush as if you were to panel bond or liquid bond, but maybe a mm or 2 of added height. If the tail was curved slightly more, I'm confident the fitment would be a 10/10. I will need to revisit down the road on correcting the adhesion, for now I'm fine with it

Front Lip (V Style)
Fitment here again is a 9/10 - when taking the existing plastic skid lip(?), there are some gaps that are uncovered. I'd expect to for fitment to be a 10/10, but simply bolting up the lip in the existing front bumper screws creates some gaps. I will have to remove this and probably lay down some 3M on the front as well, to close those gaps
Side note, I am very impressed with the mirror finish on my car! Those 18 hours I spent on it 2 weeks ago really payed off

Mounted Car Pics

Overall I am VERY happy with my order and the price justified it, after shipping it was a fraction of the cost from V Collection and others
It looks like we're not allowed to post links/addresses to non-forum sponsors so please pm me if you'd like their contact info

Sounds like you were one of the luckier ones, Oya reputation is all over the map. Know people who ordered from them and spent a lot of time and effort to get to fit and a few who had little to no effort to install. Glad you had good luck, also your pics did not show up.
My rear diffuser from them was super easy to fit (although took a good number of hours removing the bumper), the front splitter o the other hand took a load of dremel work to get close though.
I brought an office desk from them too, it's pretty nice, it gets a load of comments from visitors.

Unfortunately the catalog doesn't have pricing, but it has the codes you can ask for quotes in your inquiry. I've attached the .pdf to this message
Tina's email is: tina@kc-ast.com
Next and probably last visual piece is a rear diffuser, when I receive and mount I will update this thread accordingly
A table would be a nice mancave addition, I'd be interested to see pictures of your desk if you don't mind posting

I am happy you like it, these extra pieces really make the car look complete and stand out.
BUT...... the tail doesn't look right iMHO. The tail should completely cover the edge and not just the half of it that it does. Looks stuck on, not OEM or meant to be on the car.
I bought V Collection for this very reason. Fitment and quality. Yes their price is 1/3 to 1/2 greater. But all thier parts fit almost precisely. Their quality CF is on part with the best of the best also. No corners cut. I spoke with the owner several times during my order process even when he was on vacation. So for someone willing to work with fixing parts, the cheaper route may not be bad, but for top shelf quality and fitment, I always suggest V Collection. There is no worry there.
Again, happy that you like what you have, that is all that matters in the end. Your car does look great. Make sure you use Reload and the CarPro shampoo to keep your glass coating clean protected. It will last longer that way.

If someone is looking for top quality and fitment, this is not the route to go. If someone does not care and is just looking for some cheap, cosmetic upgrades - this is a great solution. It's a nice sporty touch and honestly does not look cheap irl, I don't see any sort of quality issues in the carbon fiber itself outside of fitment issues.
For the perfectionist minded I'd opt for the more expensive options on the market
Have to agree with Sheriff , it looks like a bump on a log and if you zoom in on the end fit you can see the poor end finish of the carbon piece .
It should be the exact width of the deck lid to look correct . As it is now it just screams “rice rocket” at me .

Unfortunately, I bought the V COLL one for the DB9. It does fit perfect, albeit a 1mm gap all the way around due to 3m tape. The ENDS do slightly end right before the edge of the bootlid. I think they are supposed too to match factory lips that are built in.
Rice Rocket ---- I deal with that thought for mine a bit. I didnt want anything to look stuck on and not OEM. A tail lip for Merc or BMW or Corvette fine, but a Aston that is that way, I dont like it. But....... Mine is not bad, everyone likes it, and its just me being picky. I would NOT have the Vantage one by OYA. Just couldn't do it to myself. I would pay or not have it.
OP---- but I completely understand your point, and no matter what anyone on here says, were still your friend and as long as you are happy with it, then the hell with us. LOL
I went the expensive route----- I got a DBS trunk lid, refinished it, parted it out to work, keeping all my OEM parts intact, then went to install it and OOOOPPPS, the trunk lid was to wide. Over 3k spent, I feel dumb......
Best pics I have of mine

To each their own, I personally don't think adding extra bits "rices" up the car. To be honest, I don't think I've seen a Kamm Tail offering for our vehicles that spans the entire rear deck, even SheriffDep's has about the same distance in gap. The only one I've ever seen is the custom ACR carbon on the widebody V8Vs. but he has since stopped production for the end consumer market
SheriffDep - I am jealous at how great your Kamm Tail looks, especially the perfect fitment on the rear deck
I think that's a perfect comparison to show the difference between a high end V Collection part vs. a Chinese replica - you definitely get what you pay for in price difference. Thank you for the pics! Now seeing a diffuser, I realize I need one in my life lol

Logically, it's a fraction of the price of CF-versions available out there. Its width is also slightly less (a mil or two at both sides) but that allowed for a nice black-bead of SikaFlex 221.
