VelocityAP Area 27 Track Day
I have a membership at Area 27 (www.area27.ca) and we are thinking about a couple of dates for hosting a track day this year.
https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...27cbe3cd2a.jpg The idea is to have a pretty laid back event – we’ll have the whole day so no need to feel pressured to go too fast too quick. For those who have driven the track before, hold a current race license or have completed an ASN approved driving school, there will be an ‘Advanced’ group. For those who are new to the track and don’t hold one of those qualifications we will start off a little slower with some instruction and ‘follow the leader’ to get everyone up to speed safely first, and then move on to open lapping later in the day. The event will be open to VelocityAP invited customers & guests only, not to the general public. We expect a mix of Astons, Mclarens, Jags, Audis & Lambos, reflective of our customer base. We are located in a very nice part of the world, with over 400 wineries in the valley and a warm, dry climate. It would be very easy to combine with a short driving holiday and some wine touring: https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.6sp...17576b0d36.jpg Potential Dates: August 30th Septemer 23rd September 29th October 3rd The cost would likely be IRO $1000 CAD for the full day with a catered lunch + something like $200 for a private winemaker’s dinner in the evening. Accommodation would be recommended at https://www.watermarkbeachresort.com/ and https://spiritridge.hyatt.com/en/hotel/home.html about 15 minutes South from the track. If you could indicate your interest and what dates you might be able to attend that would be great. We are looking for some indication on interest before committing to a date. |
Wow,what a cool looking track, this is one of the few times I wish I did no live in So Cal. Sounds like a great event at a more than fair $.

Here's a lap to get you excited. The grass has grown in a lot since last year.

Okay boys & girls. This is happening!!! Our 2019 Track Day has been scheduled for Wednesday thee 28th of August. This is going to be a fun and laid back day with lots of track time available for all. Fully catered lunch & hospitality area and an optional Winemaker's dinner in the evening. We are able to provide special rates on accommodation and other activities surrounding the track date for things such as Wine Tasting/Touring, Golf and even Spa Days for anyone who is coming along with you and might not want to partake in on-track activities. The groups will be split between those who hold a race license or who have completed a suitable driver's school or training, and those who are new or less experienced. For the beginner & intermediate groups, the morning sessions will include a 'chalk talk' from our instructor explaining some basic principles including braking, cornering and track etiquette, followed by progressively quicker 'follow the leader' sessions to get you up to speed. In the afternoon, we expect to have everyone open lapping in their respective groups. Hope to see some of you out there! |
Very interested!
