Air compressor sound

Curious...what is the sound when you open the driver's side door? Sounds like an air compressor or something from underneath.

Spend an evening reading your owner's manual cover to cover. It'll answer lots of questions you might have and some you didn't know you had.

It's probably the fuel pump, it comes on when you open the door. it's normal.

RJRDenver is on a distinguished road
My guess with the car being a dry sump oil system is it is pressurizing the oil pump. I admittedly haven't fully read the manual, but it is normal and its preparing the car to be started.

I don't understand why we have this "I know more than you and I'm not going to share because I read the manual mentality." He asked an honest question and the least we can do as a community is help someone understand what it is thats missing. If you're so well versed in the manual, maybe you can reference the section he should read.

No, the purpose is to encourage owner's to read the manual, not to keep secrets. These cars have lots of unique features and owners are doing themselves a big disservice by not understanding the vagaries of their machines that are discussed in the manual. You may learn stuff you had no idea about.

And oil pump is no cigar. It would be impossible since it is mechanically driven by the crankshaft.

My car is manual, it doesn't have asm pump, I know when I unlock my car and as soon as I pull the door handle fuel pump runs for few sec.
