nice! That is a gorgeous ride in spyder form! I'm a big fan of the R8 but not sure I want a car that would attract so much attention, thats one reason I like the Aston, people just don't notice it at all for the most part unless they are big car buffs. Maintenance on these cars can certainly be a downer, but thats why they depreciate so freaking much and allow us to purchase them in the first place, pick your poison I suppose.

I'm going to give my current car another year at least but I have the itch for a different one already after 2 years of owning the aston... exotic car bug bit me big time!

The R8 isn't a shallow pocket car at all. Nice.

2009 DB9 Volante was $70k when I purchased it.
2014 Audi R8 V10 Spyder was $102k
Insurance on the R8 is $400 a year less than the Aston.
I would have thought with the Audi being newer, 50+ more HP and a legitimate 2 seater it would have been more than the Aston. Can anyone in the business give me the logic behind it? Is it all on the scarcity of the Aston?

Insurance quotes don't have to do with power or purchase price. Insurance companies base prices on actuarials of the accident rate of drivers of your profile and the costs of repairing the car you've chosen.
