Alternator Replacement

2007 V8V Alternator failed. 2005 -2006 Ford thunderbird is replacement part. It would be great to start a thread to aggregate compatable/replacement parts with parts number equivalents.

Alternator does not come out without removal of subframe. Main bolt doesn't back out thru subframe. Have to section bolt. Very difficult access. Best of luck!

Will post how it goes, was aware the oil tank must be moved.

Replaced on 2007 couple years ago with 95k miles at that time. I had to beat alternator out of place with breaker bar and mini sledge. Once new alt was in place could not budge it. Because of subframe could not use main bolt, think I used 3/8 threaded rod which would fit into opening of subframe then place nuts on each end. 5/8 was too large and wouldn't fit into slot on subframe.

Did not encounter issues of previous poster thankfully. Not as simple or straightforward as one would think. Had a more robust unit discovered, I would have installed it just to not have to go through it again.

Good to know - the workshop manual procedure didn't seem to indicate any of the issues mentioned.
