Ian Callums 2nd take on Vanquish
I don't get the appeal of the original Vanquish. I understand it was the last "hand built" Aston, so it has that charm but in terms of design, I feel like the DB9 was the "fixed" Vanquish. To me its perfect, the height of modern AM design, its today's DB5.
When I saw the photograph one thing stood out.
Why are the front brake calipers at the front of the front wheels? Front brake calipers were moved to the rear of the front wheels on performance vehicles many years ago for good reasons. It puts the unsprung weight of the front brake calipers towards the center of the car, but more importantly it allows the steering rack to be placed at the front of the front wheels.
This steering rack position gives much better steering accuracy and feedback to the driver.

He more or less states that he's trying to complete a project that he feels wasn't done the first time around. Something I can completely identify with as most of my designs have to be released when it's good enough even though I'd like to keep tinkering. I respect him for it.
