Interesting, I've got the NT530, purchased directly from Foxwell and I specified the Aston Martin scanner. Mine doesn't have the Aston icon though, only OBD II icons.

How did you get the Aston stuff installed on yours?

You have to sign up with Foxwell. Then you download your car type - in this case Aston Martin. It has a product key you get my email if I remember correctly.

I sure do. Foxwell doesn't seem to be honoring any type of warranty. It's been two weeks of asking them for help, for them to just continually ask me for more information. Finally they said they couldn't help and I needed to contact the distributor. I bought it directly from Foxwell Online, so there should be no reason the service agent I've been working with couldn't help.

I've been waiting to see what Foxwell ultimately does before I posted anything negative, but as of right now, I would not recommend any other owners to purchase their products. They don't stand behind them and their technical support is exhausting and inefficient to work with.

Out of curiosity, on your screen, do you have an Aston Martin icon?

When you check for codes, which one do you use? The obdii icon or the aston martin icon?

I have the NT530, as already mentioned here.

Foxwell is now ignoring my requests for repair/replacement, after I told them that I updated the software and even tried older versions of the software.

You can only talk with primary engine ecu and trans but not the secondary engine ecu?

Have you tried just selecting Aston icon only and not the OBD icon. 07E8 is engine and 07E9 is trans (assuming 07EE is secondary ecu), if foxwell uses a default setting because of generic obd icon selection, then you won't be able to communicate with secondary ecu.

Hi Irish, thanks for helping. When selecting the Aston icon, I can communicate with any module. In that section, it identifies them as V12 bank 1 and bank 2, and the trans is identified separately. Nonetheless, I don't end up with not being able to communicate there, and it seems I can read from everything, though I am not able to get the same amount of "live data" that I could get when selecting the OBD-II icon. My worry in all of this was that I wouldn't be able to retrieve useful live data from that missing module.

For anyone tracking, this has been three weeks of trying to get Foxwell to try to help or identify the issue. All they do is ask questions, say they will talk to an engineer, and then go quiet. Not sure if the issue is a defect in the scanner or just an inability for the two to communicate like Irish was suggesting, but in either case, Foxwell has offered no help or willingness to inspect/replace the unit. I wouldn't recommend their products.

So To sum it up..

By using the Aston icon, you can talk with all modules dependant on which OBD port you connect with (Engine OBD vs Body OBD). But you lack live data protocols in engine modules this way?

If you using the generic selection through engine OBD port, you can only communicate with primary ecu and trans, lacking communication to the engine secondary ecu? Also the comms you have with engine primary ecu have more live data than if using the Aston icon?
