Help solve a brake mystery

I bought my 2013 V8V four years ago from the original owner when it had 4,500 miles. This weekend I changed the brake pad with Porterfeld RS-4's I replaced them because the rears were getting thin. That was the first thing that struck me as odd, why would the rears be going before the fronts? That's backward. When changing them, the front had plenty of material left and was a Brembo pad. The thin rears were RS-4's, so not original. How did it get this way? Someone replaced the rears within 4,500 miles? So this is the third set of rears in 16k miles.

Think traction control!

that uses the rears so every time you wiggle the rear end your rear brakes get a serious work out

Not sure of the V8V but in the DB9 manual, it specifically states that the rears will wear faster than the fronts.

Third set of rears in 16k seems high to me, but I'm not as knowledgeable as many others on this forum.

makes sense...I was surprised at how worn my rear pads were when I replaced all fours a couple months ago... since I started with 4 fresh sets... it will be good way to keep track of the wear.

Thanks. Still a mystery to me that the rears were replaced in under 4,500 by the previous owner. Maybe that explains his comment when turning the car over to me that he wanted something that would do a better job of pushing him back into his seat.

Might have had brake squeal issues on the rears.

Same reason that the rear tires wear faster than the fronts?

OEM rear pads start out life @ 7mm of material. Not much meat considering the wear indicator comes on around 2.5mm remaining.
