Advice needed: Sportshift II + starting on incline
Advice needed: Sportshift II + starting on incline
Hopefully my question below makes sense.
The entrance to the parking garage in my condo is on a steep slope. Every time I get into the building I have to do the following:
1) I have to pull up on the slope, stop, wait for the first gate to lift
2) Drive further up the incline, stop, wait for the first gate to go back down, after which the second gate opens up
3) Drive up and enter the garage
Basically every time I drive into the garage I can feel/smell the clutch burning. I have a (new to me) 2011 Vantage S Sportshift II and I was hoping to get some driving suggestions on how to tackle this problem so I'm not unnecessarily killing the clutch each time I enter my building. I believe the car has hill/hold start assist but I'm not really sure how that works or how to activate it.
Thanks in advance.
p.s. No issues with the clutch slipping during regular driving/reversing etc.

the only issue I have with this method, maybe it’s just my car, but unless I push the handbrake down hard and really fast it doesn’t always fully disengage
