Radio / Bovee / mess
Recently bought a Bovees 1000 for my Aston DB9. C'ant get it the sync but that's another issue. Plugged it in to my iPod connection and as I said earlier it will not sync went back in the house to do some research came back to the car and when I turned the key back on I heard a loud pop come from the passenger side foot well where the cabin fuse box is. I have no radio power so I'm m assuming I blew the radio fuse. Everything else seems to work including navigation. I'll check fuses when it gets a little warmer in my garage.
I have read how easy it is to setup the Bovee however I have some bastardized iPod / xm radio set up. It is an Alpine system that is run through the nav screen and controlled by a remote controlled independent of the radio controls . I can only adjust volume with the radio control. Moving sources like iPod and xm must be done with the remote. The system has a small black receiver which picks up the rf signal from the remote. Anyone know anything about this system? The whole setup sucks.
TIA

I can't help you, but I can commiserate...
I bought a 2000 M5 to replace the one I sold (such a mistake!). This one came with an aftermarket Alpine stereo that the PO had installed. It was a terrible install and left me with many questions. Fortunately, the E39 M5 scrapper of the world lives about 45 minutes away. I spent a morning in his driveway collecting the head unit, radio, nav unit, amplifier, brackets, harness bits and carpet to get it back to stock. Now I can add in the new bluetooth adapter, and speakers that it needs to join this century. But wow, what a mess...
I suspect you are in the same boat. Good luck and keep us posted.
