won't start

My 2009 DBS has starting issues. here's the issue , started ok 2 days ago, started this morning drove 10 minutes to the post office, came out fob wont go ion all the way to the start position.goes in to turn on radio and screen, waited 10 minutes and 30 minutes still wouldn't start. the red lights stays on for the gas filler cap by drivers foot. Did it twice before but than started. checked battery in fob 3.2 volts and car battery 13.5 volts. Could it be the alarm ?thanks

Can't help you, but is this an automatic? Could it think it's in gear and thus wont' start? If a manual, has the clutch interconnect failed? Both of these are known to keep starter motors from turning the engine over on almost every brand of car... If it's an automatic move it in and out of gear. If a manual you can try pushing the clutch down harder (works in my M5!) or removing the wiring from the interconnect and removing it from the circuit.

Good luck!

Without your "fob" KEY fully seating in position your likely not in start mode. Do you have a second key? if so I'd try it.

Looks like it was the plastic key.had to drive 6 hrs to my other house and get the crystal key. Started fine with the crystal. Took the plastic key apart, someone has been in there b4, 2 of the clips that hold the battery in where missing. did a repair and works fine. Thanks for all the help and be safe.

Battery in the ECU/key has no effect on starting the engine. Transponder chip programmed to the vehicle inside the key is the magic. Just warning you so it doesn't happen again.
