Odd noise and DSC messsage
Odd noise and DSC messsage
This morning I started the Vantage (07 V8 manual) and got a message that said the alarm had been activated over night. We've had some serious winds and thunder overnight so I chalked it up to that. I drove off and heard a soft noise like a spring releasing (boing) and then heard it again a few miles later. When I was on my way back from the short trip (about 8 miles) I heard this noise louder, and pulled over to investigate but found nothing amiss under the car or in the wheels or brake areas. This time the noise was loud enough that a couple walking past had heard it and asked if I'd hit something but said they hadn't seen anything in the road. I drove home and everything seems normal, no more noises and no warning lights. I decided to look closer with a flashlight and found nothing, then I decided to see if the Foxwell had any codes that didn't show up as warnings. I connected the Foxwell and found no codes and then DSC Temporarily Disabled / DSC service required lights came on. Is there any way to extinguish them? There is no code indicated in the OBDII system. Any ideas on that boing noise?
And then the light went out....sometimes I wonder if this car has a mind of its own and just likes to mess with me. Perhaps that is the origin of the Emotional Control Unit?
