Leather Repair - Looking for Recommendations
I have several areas of my interior (the leather) that are in need of touch up. Primarily on the center console, and just behind the driver's seat. The previous owner had a shop install an auxiliary audio adapter, and they damaged the leather, broke the start button, and broke the ski slope in the process. I'm working on sourcing the other parts, and am open to any sources you may have there as well. That said, I need to repair my leather. I had previously read that https://www.colourlock.com/index.html might be a solid option. Their website shows that they are currently only selling to customers in the UK. Does anyone have another company that they have used with solid results? The car is an 07 V8 Vantage with Obsidian Black leather and Falcon Grey stitching.
i've recently noticed that the leather on my center armrest, like just about every vantage, has stretched and has an unsightly wrinkle in it (sort of surprised that it wasn't glued to the underlying support piece). i think i'll soon be taking it off and attempting to fix it myself. it's not as if i haven't had that piece off a number of times in the past....
,,,a couple days later...
removed it today. it's stapled to the underlying plastic support piece with about a hundred small staples. it'll take me a hour to remove them all, plus a trip to the hardware store for some contact cement. stapler and staples. then another hour or two (or three or four) to re-assemble. i may just call around and see if i can find an upholstery shop that 'll do it for less then a hundred.... IDK..
the arm rest covering is vinyl. i thought for sure it was leather but on my 2007 vantage it's vinyl. it also has what was probably a 3/16" layer of open cell foam between the vinyl and the plastic. after 15 years it has disintegrated and left the vinyl loose. no wonder it is wrinkled. today i took it to an auto upholstery shop and they'll be putting new foam in and reattaching it. estimate was an hour and a half of work. the new foam is necessary to make it look right.

thought you said you have obsidian black? That's not custom...
YouTube has any all the information you need to do the repair yourself. It will also give you an idea on the time it takes to do the work. Costs for the materials is not bad at all. It’s just the time needed.

I had a local shop replace the leather on my gauge cluster hood and arm rest of my ‘06 about a month ago. Total cost was just under $300 for the pair. I can’t say that the leather they used is a perfect match but it’s close enough and I’m satisfied with it. Of course these pieces are smaller than some of the other dash pieces but overall I’m satisfied with the outcome and at that price, I’m considering taking more pieces back to them.

I would ask an exotic car dealer (Ferrari, Bentley, Lambo, etc.) who they use for leather repair. As far as the ski-slope I would never have a shop that did not do many other Astons to remove the ski-slope, especially if Piano Black. Some of the past ski-slopes had plastic backs and then changed to metal backing which I did not know until I changed my 2011 V8 (plastic) to the Bamboo (newer, metal) backing requiring a conversion kit. I hired the Aston Martin mechanic that did the work, and other work in the evening and weekends - paid cash and still saved a ton of money. For interior leather and plastic repair I use Custom Color Inc (CCI) in Minneapolis. They do a great job in color match (mostly bolster wear) on my Vantages. I have a SLK32 also - the worst ever interior for wear, it will scratch and peal just looking at it. When I bought the car the entire interior was scratched and pealed. CCI did the whole interior originally for $250 looking like new, matching the grey/black color perfectly. Every Spring I have them do a touch up from the last summers wear. Best yet, they do the work on site, so I don't have to take time off work. You need to find out who the exotic dealers use and find a local CCI type business near you.
I had the local Fibrenew guy in my area come over, look at the scratch / wear , gave me a quote on the spot that was reasonable. He did wonders, matched the color and grain texture perfectly.
2 Years on, the repair holds up nice.

I bought dye from Leather Magic for my Phantom Grey interior and it was a perfect match, they have the Aston colors so I just ordered and got it in less than a week.
