I took a chance and ordered the Mr12Volt P600 bluetooth adapter for my 2007 V8 Vantage after seeing that they now list support for the car on their website. Shipping was faster than expected as I got the adapter in the mail 4 days after ordering it. The install was also straight forward and took less than an hour. I used the power point in the center console as my constant power source. When the unit works, it works well. It has no problem pairing with my iPhone and the sound quality is as expected for bluetooth. So far, so good.
All of that said, the unit only works when power cycled after the car has been started. I pulled the unit and tried moving dip switch 1 into the "on" position as the manual included with the P600 states that for 2006 and older Aston Martin installs the switch should be set as such (again, mine is a 2007). In this configuration the unit works even after initial vehicle starting. The unit also loses text on screen abilities, control of music with forward/back buttons on the radio and most important - the P600 stays on indefinitely. This means that my phone never unpairs from the car until I am far enough away and there is a constant drain on the battery. I set the dip switch back to recommended settings and reached out to Mr12Volt for support and received a less than helpful reply from the vendor:
"Mr12Volt Car Interface Hello, Sorry for late reply , the CD changer must be disconnected by using the loop connector. Otherwise, P600 would not work properly"
Has anyone experienced similar issues? While I can put the ground on a switch and power cycle the unit each time I start the car, I'd strongly prefer not to.
i installed the old mr12volt in my 2007 vantage. it works with the first dip switch set, as per instructions. i don't have any other switches connected to it. i think i'm getting the power from switched (even though the instructions, IIRC, recommened a constant 12v source. i don't drive the car all that often i don't want any additional drain on my battery. it occasionally has trouble getting the connection back after i stop and start the car.
i have to admit i don't take any precautions at all when i'm using the unit and turn off the ignition. i just hope that it reconnects when i start the car again. it usually does. i suppose i could try a few things that would make it more predictable, but it's not that important. i can always find some way to get it going again. although, i've sat in the car at a gas station for a few times trying to get it to work to the point where it annoyed me.
on occasion, i've resorted to Bose earbuds and the phone on the vantage, and ALWAYS on several other vintage cars that don't have stereo systems, on more than one occasion.
one of these days i'll experiment with various combinations of quiescing bluetooth on my phone, or turning off the stereo in the car before turning off the ignition and see how that goes. until then i can live with mr12volt's foibles. )

If it worked even sometimes, it would be great. The newest version they sell specifically states to leave all dip switches in the off position for 2007-2012 Aston Martin. I'm sure I'll end up installing a switch in the ground circuit to restart it every time I want to listen to the stereo as others have done. Between lack of vendor support, and lack of advertised functionality, I cannot recommend this as a solution to those looking to add Bluetooth to their V8 Vantage.
I'm not sure what the Mr12Volt P600 unit is but I have this basic Tune2Air WMA1000 device plugged into my car's wired input (using an old school iphone pre-lighting connector) and it works perfectly 100% of the time. Never have to cycle it, doesn't drain the battery when the car is parked for weeks at a time, shows full data info on the display, forward/back/etc controls all work.
It's a 2010 Vantage - window sticker with all the options below. What I mean by wired input is this rectangular plug connection in the armrest compartment. See pictures below:
looks like the tune2air is available on amazon (they are labeled Bovee) for $80. if i had that port in my console, i would probably buy one to test, but i don't.
i suspect the port was originally designed for a hardwire connection to your phone and the tune2air is simply a bluetooth wireless adapter so as to eliminate the wired connection. i could be wrong... and probably am.
I did not realize that port in the console was not standard across all Vantages. Here is a parts diagram that shows the port and the cable (that also came with my car) and you are correct that it was designed to plug in an iPod (this was back in the day) or iPhone directly and the Tune2Air just turns that connection wireless with bluetooth.

I think you have to have the ipod option... some don't have that option.
I'm my 2009 vantage I have a Bovee, an Alexa device for voice control and my phone. I can use all three devices. It's great

That may have changed over the production years but on my 2010 the option "6 CD autochanger and iPod connection" is listed under standard features (see window sticker for my car above).
Earlier cars did not have that as an option as I understand.
Either way, not all cars have the Ipod connection, my 2007 does not but have the premium audio system. So unfortunatly the only way to get phone audio into the car speakers is FM transmitter or a MOST integration unit. FM transmitter sucks when it comes to audio quality and the MOST options seems to be working sometimes and sometimes not.
