What do door struts that aren't broken feel like?

There was a 4.0 vantage (black, F1...very nice) at my carwash the other day and my guy was like "go take a look". I opened the door and just stopped looking. The door kind of "floated" open. It was very nice and made me wonder if that's what my VH doors would feel like if I wasn't too lazy to install the brand new door struts that I have on a shelf. Are everybody's doors but mine opening up nicely or did Aston upgrade the door feel in the 4.0?

I replaced mine a couple years ago. the doors open easily and stay open, even on an incline.

Before, they slowly fell down

I also replaced mine about 18 months ago, previously they were a bit treacherous flat, and downright frightening if parked on a side slope of any kind. Now they very light, stay open at any angle, and are very easy to use. The swap really isn't bad, just watch a few tutorials and you'll catch on with the trick of the ball joint clip. Second side is much faster than the first.

I've replaced all the struts except for the back doors on the Rapide. They float great when replaced. Service tech wasn't so happy when the bonnet wouldn't stay up a few years ago... Ouch.

When doing my Wolf test drive of the launch car I immediately noted the effortless door weight and he said they spent alot of time perfecting the pressure so it was effortless to open or close. It's cool, and not like a V8V with new struts.

HabitualOffender, THAT's the answer I was looking for. I'm going to replace my struts anyway but now I won't be heartbroken when the doors don't float open for me. I really did like the door action on the new Vantage. Very luxurious, Aston-like.

It was definitely a perfect float. I will say I opened the door on @Kalepsis' yellow V8V and it about jumped open. Redpants tested some of the shocks once and the pressures are all over the place. I used to like the fact I could just start to close my door and it would shut, now I have to throw my door and still sometimes get 5' away and turn around to push it harder.
