You need a 12V source to activate the pistons that move the handbrake pads.
You'll have to connect the 12V to the motor, after you remove the plug.

you think this will do it? not easy to find one with 2 plugs, not easy to order this one from germany, no prices listed too.

or that kind if i can connect two plugs there? what do you think?

Thinkdiag2 has EPB functions too and you can pull out and reset the parking brake at will

great to hear that, i will check first if my ob2 can do it, thanks UltraMarine

"The hand brake pads might last the entire life of the car. " i red this on aston 1936 page, i have 40k miles on my car, what happenned is last time i could not release the parking brake, i had to restart the car and i was thinking the pads are too used they stick together or something...but maybe my pads are still good at 40k miles, i bought the pads thinking i need them but if i can avoid doing it better, i will seee. thank you
i also need new rear discs but since i drive so little i was told i could keep them as is 5 more years if i wanted....

I have hotwired electric parking brake calipers with two wires off of a battery charger. Just watch the caliper go in or out and reverse your wires accordingly. At some point it will be all the way out. The pads for the DB9 come from a Jag (S-Type if memory serves) and are readily available.
