I see SoCal drive days being posted here quite a bit so I figure there is some great local knowledge. I’ll be over there shortly and I’d love to get some local tips on the best canyon roads like I see on YouTube. Many thanks!

 

One of my absolute favorites is Angeles Crest Highway. It's a spectacular place to drive and see the view. Anything going from the beaches inland (Mulholland, Latigo Canyon) are excellent as well. Hope you enjoy your time out here!

 

+1 to what @MagmaCentariV12V recommended. Just make sure you check for road closures prior to your drive. They do happen every now and then due to fires and rocks.

Also, way down in San Diego, Cuyamaca Rancho State Park I79 and Sunrise Hwy are worth going as well.
