Bonnet/Hood won't open

G'day all,
I have a 2007 Vantage roadster and the bonnet/hood won't open when I pull the release handle, I have disconnected the release mechanism from the passenger side footwell and pulled the cable, I get about an inch of cable movement and then the cable won't move any further, it is solid, regardless of the amount of pull force I use. I've had a mate pulling and pushing the bonnet/hood while ive been doing this. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can open the bonnet/hood?
regards to all,
Raoul

I finallly accessed the bonnet, I took the L/H airbox out lowered the engine oil coolerso I could get to the security studs holding the grill inplace, still couldn't reach the studs/nuts! I mangaged with the aid of a mate to place a ring spanner on the nut with a extendable magnet through the grill and then use a screwdriver to lever the spanner through the grill to loosen the nuts, once the nuts were finger tight we could use our fingers to run the nut o off the studs and remove the grill. I then removed the micro switch from the bottom of the latch. I could then see the cable had slipped out of the unlock lever! It looks like the cable has stretched so I've ordered a new one. Why did the put the cable slot in the release lever verticalyl instead of horizontally????

Vehicle manufacturers no longer care about the ability to repair them.
