Pro Tip- keep your struts in the extended (open) position for longer life
It's only taken me 25 yrs of having German & English cars to learn this tip. The struts will last you alot longer IF you keep the bonnet/boot/gas flap open. There is less of a "load" on the struts and in my experience (Porsche/Jag/AM), this is the case.
