Re-attaching Oil Fill label ring on V8V

Hi all- First time post so please have mercy. I have a 2011 v8v that I bought on BaT about a year ago. At 70k miles it is still in great shape and has been amazing so far. As I'm doing any needed maintenance or repairs on it myself, I am sure to have some issues I'll need community help with.

As I was changing the oil the other day, the Metal ring around the oil reservoir fill that is the "Label, Engine Lube Oil" (6G336K723AA) came off. I'm wondering if anyone else has had this issue or if anyone knows what type of adhesive would be best for re-attaching it? Since that area gets hot and could also have oil spilled on it I'm just looking for advice on what material to use or stories from anyone with experience with the same issue. I know it is a relatively inexpensive part but the old one is still perfectly good and usually glue/adhesives are cheap so I'd prefer to keep it.

In case anyone else has the same question or issue in the future, I ended up buying some "metal" super glue and using a thin bead of that to glue it back on. Bonded really well but I haven't yet run the car for a long time to see if the heat gets to it.

Here is the stuff I bought: "WoldoClean Super Glue for Metal"
Amazon Amazon

Says it bonds aluminum and is heat resistant up to 239 degrees F. We will see if all of that is true.

I hope that glue holds up for you. The under-hood temperatures are going to be right up against the upper limit though. Since super glues are usually brittle if the thermal expansion of the reservoir and the label ring aren't the same it may pop itself off after a while. I probably would've picked something with a bit of flex and a higher temperature rating. No harm though. It'll hold... or it won't. You can always reglue it with something else later.

For anyone that has questions about glues / adhesives, contact these guys;

Super helpful and knowledgeable. I bought Plexus MA300 (the epoxy that Aston Martin specific for bonding body panel and carbon fiber repairs) from them and they were great.

Great advice - thanks to you both. Agree that the glue I found is right on the edge of being usable. I was trying to find something super thin that wouldn't create a visible gap (like a thick tape or thicker adhesive might) - we'll see if mine was a bad plan. Forgot to mention that before I did this I contacted parts dept at my local Aston dealer and they weren't able to tell me what type of adhesive that part comes with (if any) if you buy it new. I'll let you know if my easy fix stays put over time or not.

Have you considered some high temperature double sided tape?

Use something other than "adhesive" ?

You might consider using Permatex Form-a-gasket, either No. 1 or No. 2; either hardening or non-hardening.
Both are good to 400 degrees F and resist "common shop fluids and fuels."
Small tubes are available.
