http://www.worldcarfans.com/spyphoto...001.mini2L.jpg http://www.worldcarfans.com/spyphoto...001.mini3L.jpg Aston Martin has recently unveiled the company’s latest movie star called the DBS, the famous secret agent 007’s next super car . It will be driven by Daniel Craig in the movie Casino Royale which will appear in cinemas in November this year. This Aston Martin continues the long-time association with James Bond, an Aston Martin DB5 made its first appearance in the Bond movie “Goldfinger” back in 1964. While Bond’s fiction vehicle will be unique just for the movie, the Ford owned Aston Martin sports car maker is about to set up in additional small 300 unit production line of the DBS road version, pictured here during high speed testing at Nürburgring. It has the writing DBRS9 on the side and at the rear end. Based on an uprated version of the DB9, it has a wider track and lower ground clearance, bold scoops and air intakes on the front, and according to rumours the V12 engine’s performance was boosted from 450 bhp to 500 bhp. It is expected to cost no less than £130.000. Article from http://www.worldcarfans.com/spyphoto...n-martin-dbrs9 |

I think they just borrowed the DBRS9 badge for testing. A real DBRS9 looks like this:

Looks tight, This is what the AMV8 should have been. When they first talked about releasing it they wanted it to compete with the 911 Turbo.

Now THAT'S how it should have been from the beginning.

Just to clarify...
The DBRS9 is the race car, and the DBS is the optioned DB9 in Casino Royale. No biggie, but there is a distinction in the nomenclature.
There remains speculation about whether the DBS will ever really make it into production. It's rumored it will in a limited run, but it's also rumored to have a price tag in the $300K range. Even more than a Vanquish S! Lots of small-batch production parts drive this car's cost way up there. The interior is absolutely beautiful, and AM, for my money, has the finest designs in the business. I'm still curious about their reliability, and I have to say that I wasn't impressed at all by the Vanquish's seats when I thought of buying one. These may be mere annoyances to some, but I think for the kind of $ one pays for an AM, it should be perfect. Not to mention the entirely ridiculous depreciation curves on AMs. All that said, they really are stunners. CW |
I would like to let everyone know that the actor playing the new james bond film does not know how to drive stick, so therefore it took him a while to get used to the db9. I was speechless when i read the sentence in one of the car mags, it's just embarrassing and disgusting to mankind.
