What's the latest on V-10?

anybody have any update release info?
I'm still number 4 down on the list and they have
been getting about 1/month.
Hoping V-10 release and my spot coincide.

Which v10?
the upcoming R8 v10? RUMORS say 5.0 FSI 525 hp

1 per month? You must be referring to the R8 V8, because the R8 V-10 won't be produced for at least another year. I think that the 2009 model will still be a V-8; does anybody know anything differently?

Sorry to go slightly off topic, but I'm confused as to whether they plan on actually producing the v8 version once the V10 version is released, or is the v10 designed to out and out replace it?

its not a replacement. it will most likely be a 3 model platform consisting of
4.2 V8 FSI 420
5.0 V10 FSI 525
6.0 V12 TDI 500

I would think it will be an extra cost option?????

^ Thanks for the response guys. THat's sort of what intuitoin was teling me but I wasn't sure. I've also heard cnflicting info that they'll keep the R8 moniker for all 3 instead of naming themj R10, etc...this true as well?

cargo8 Mar 2, 2008 09:51 PM

mostlikely will not be R10 R12t or anything like that.
it would be easier for sure and more practical and marketable to keep them the all the R8
perhaps teh v10 one will be the raciest and thus an RS8, but obviously no one can really tell

^ That makes sense. Can't wait to see what audi have up their sleeves with the R8.
